Grammy winners La Santa Cecilia and Colombian duo Palenke Soultribe will make sure to keep the Latin vibes caliente all weekend long during the NALIP Media Summit. And the beautiful and talented and not to mention hilarious Jill-Michele Meleán will be the host during the Saturday night Gala Awards.

Grammy winners La Santa Cecilia consists of accordionist and requintero Jose “Pepe” Carlos, bassist Alex Bendana, percussionist Miguel Ramirez, and lead vocalist La Marisoul, whose captivating voice sings about love, loss and heartbreak. Their influences range from Miles Davis to The Beatles, Zeppelin to Janis Joplin and Mercedes Sosa to Ramon Ayala. Their common love of music and openness to all genres led them to the concept of La Santa Cecilia in 2007 – named after the patron saint of musicians.

Their song “Chicle” was featured on the Emmy award-winning series Weeds, the independent feature Dish, and the documentary Re-Encounters about Oaxacan artist Alejandro Santiago. The band made an on-camera appearance on HBO's Emmy award-winning hit show Entourage; They have also appeared on the critically acclaimed FX series “The Bridge”.

The band was tapped by multiple Latin GRAMMY award winning duo Jesse & Joy to open for them on their North American Tour. The band has also taped an on-air appearance on the critically acclaimed TV show “The Bridge” (FX Network). More to come from this band from Los Angeles. The band has enjoyed great critical acclaim in the Wall Street Journal, NPR (Named to numerous Best of 2013 lists), and Ad Age Magazine naming the band a must for any Ad Agencies looking to launch a Hispanic Campaign. The band also celebrate 2014 with a GRAMMY nomination and win (Best Latin Rock, Urban, or Alternative Album) for Treinta Dias.

Palenke Soultribe, a live electronic production duo are taking electronic music to new heights by deconstructing Afro-Colombian rhythms and blending them with modern beats, catchy bass lines and synthesized arpeggios. Based in Los Angeles, Palenke Soultribe (PST) puts on energetic shows, and are consistently releasing musically interesting albums and remixes, always pushing the envelope visually and conceptually. They represent a new generation of Colombian musicians ready to break all the rules.

Palenke Soultribe was formed by producer/bassist Juan Diego Borda (a.k.a. Insectosound) and producer/ keyboardist Andres “Popa” Erazo. PST enjoys working as a collective, inviting guest producers, singers, songwriters and instrumentalists to their shows and to contribute on their albums. Drummer Argel Cota and percussionists Clodomiro Montes and Diego Cadavid currently make up the live show.

Jill-Michele Meleán, AKA “Jilly”, was the first and only Latina Cast Member of FOX’s “MadTV”. You've seen her on Comedy Central's "Reno 911" playing Lopez’s girlfriend and doing commentary on “E!”, “VH1” and “TVguide.” She’s not a mom in real life but plays one on TV on Nickelodeon’s hit TV show “Big Time Rush.”Jilly is also a national touring stand-up comedienne and can be seen on SHOWTIME’s stand-up special “Hot Tamales.”
