About The Summit

NALIP 15 Years, Trailblazing, Trendsetting

June 5-8, 2014 | Universal Sheraton Hotel

The NALIP Media Summit will be a dynamic and inspiring weekend that will provide you with invaluable networking opportunities and new skills that will MOVE YOUR PROJECT OR STORY IDEA FORWARD!

The NALIP Media Summit, formerly known as the NALIP National Conference, is the largest and most prestigious annual gathering of Latinos in the media field nationwide. For the past fifteen years, this unique event has been organized as a creative, business and networking opportunity for Latino media makers and those interested in Latino creative talent and content. The NALIP Media Summit will present top-level speakers who will provide analysis of the television, film, documentary and digital media industries while projecting future trends. Intimate conversations with artists will be held as well as workshops for emerging and mid-career media makers. There will be pitching and screening events, our annual Gala Awards honoring past triumphs and rising talents.

The NALIP Media Summit is presented by HBO and the National Latino Media Council. Chair Jimmy Mendiola along with the NALIP Board and Executive Staff, have invited top industry professionals and visionaries to examine new trends in media making, financing, marketing, and content creation.

Latinos buy 1 in every 4 movie tickets. They like to be “in the know” about new films. Latinos are fans of all major genres, especially action/adventure, horror and comedies. But they also love romantic movies, too. Movies are fun for the whole family! But, how are the current trends in media keeping up with these statistics?Does the new media content reflect our taste and diversity? And most importantly, how can YOU, as a Latino media maker, make sure that your voice and vision move forward to a successful completion?

We have programmed an exciting and jam-packed weekend of plenaries, conversations, workshops and networking events – plus an exciting screening at the AMC theater on Universal CityWalk. There will be panels and workshops for actors, producers, directors, writers, film, TV and documentary filmmakers. In addition, we will program over 250 one-on-one executive pitching sessions during the *Latino Media Market.
